How the Chestnut brothers masterfully navigated the patent system to the advantage of the Chestnut Canoe Factory will be the subject of Mario Theriault’s presentation at the York Sunbury Historical Society’s March lecture. This event begins at 7:30 pm on Thursday, March 15, 2018 at Government House, 51 Woodstock Road, Fredericton. All are welcome and light refreshments will be served.
In this free public talk, author and patent expert, Mario Theriault, will explore how the Chestnuts managed the patent system to their advantage, successfully growing the Chestnut Canoe Company into one of the most important manufacturers of canoes in North America.
Mario Theriault is the author of Great Maritime Inventions 1833-1950 and a Registered Patent Agent with both the Canadian Intellectual Property Office and the US Patent and Trademark Office. He has drafted and successfully obtained over 605 patents in 10 countries for his clients.
