Everything you ever wanted to know about UFO research, alien encounters and recent findings of a US Congress report on Unidentified Aerial Phenomenon will be the subject of a five-part Stanton Friedman Virtual Memorial Speaker Series hosted by the Fredericton Region Museum this summer.

The Stanton Friedman Virtual Memorial Speaker Series is FREE and will be held via ZOOM at 7 pm every Thursday starting July 8 through to August 5. The memorial speaker series is part of the museum’s Stanton Friedman Is Out Of This World exhibit and features prominent members of the international UFO research community from across Canada and the United States. The series will be recorded and uploaded to YouTube. Please contact us at frmoperations@gmail.com for the ZOOM link.

The Stanton Friedman Virtual Memorial Speaker Series kicks off at 7 pm Thursday July 8 with a presentation by Joanna Aiton-Kerr, Deputy Director of the Provincial Archives of New Brunswick. Aiton-Kerr will speak to the enormous treasure trove of archival documents found in the Stanton Friedman Collection. She will also address the challenges and delights it has presented to teams of archivists as they make their way through what is expected to be a 10 year project.

On Thursday, 15 July at 7 pm, prominent UFO researcher and author Kathleen Marden will speak on her work with Stanton Friedman in the field of UFology. Marden is the niece of Betty & Barney Hill, an American couple who claimed to have been abducted by aliens in 1961 while on their way back to New Hampshire from Montreal. Marden and Stanton Friedman co-authored several books together, including the best selling Captured! The Betty and Barney Hill UFO Experience.

On Thursday, 22 July at 7 pm, UFO researcher and author Chris Styles will speak on the suspected crash of an alien craft in the waters off Shag Harbour, Nova Scotia in 1967. Styles was a colleague and friend of Stanton Friedman and has worked tirelessly for more than 40 years to document the “Shag Harbour Incident”.

On Thursday, 29 July at 7 pm, Jennifer Stein, UFO researcher, documentary film producer and long time friend of Stanton Friedman, will speak on her film “Travis”. The documentary tells the story of Travis Walton, an Arizona logger who claimed to have been abducted by aliens in 1975. His story became the basis of the Paramount film “Fire In The Sky”. Stanton Friedman was a consultant on Stein’s Travis Walton documentary and is featured in the film.

On Thursday, 5 August at 7pm, Chris Rutkowski, preeminent Canadian UFO researcher, science writer, author and educator, will speak about his work with Stanton Friedman since they first met in the 1970s. Rutkowski has degrees in astronomy and education and publishes an annual study of UFO reports in Canada. He is the administrator of several UFO-related Facebook groups and is well respected in the international UFO community.

The Stanton Friedman Virtual Memorial Speaker Series is a companion to the Stanton Friedman Is Out Of This World exhibit which is on display at the Fredericton Region Museum summer 2021-2022. Visitors are welcome to the Museum Tuesday to Saturday, 10 am to 4 pm throughout July and August. COVID restrictions apply.
